it seems as though an age has passed from discovering this site seven years ago to where i am now.
just before we started studying the daniel's prophecy book, i went online to see if anyone had made a study bookmark with the dates and paragraphs on.
i "stumbled" across this site, way back in 2000. of course, like a good christian i pretty much determined that this site had gone apostate from the other jw sites, such.
little curiosity begat internet searches, which begat begat freeminds guestbook, which begat reading the rest of the site, which begat jwfacts, which begat silentlambs, which begat jwd, which begat which begat many years of occasional lurking, which begat regular reading, which begat occasional posting... who knows what's next?

when i was in my teens, jw weddings were quite the social affair.
of course, the music was strictly regulated by the elders.
somehow though, in each wedding, someone managed to get the song "you shook me all night long" by ac/dc into the dj's rotation, and all of the "bad" witnesses would have a blast dancing to it.
This just caused a crazy flashback for me.
I was at a wedding for a JW girl I went to school with. She had a band at the reception. At some point they played "Sex Machine" by James Brown. Crazy funny. Nooooooooobody danced. Classic stuff, really.

tonight was (apparently) the final episode, as cbs has made the incredibly brain dead decision to cancel it.. i liked it.
the conspiracy plot kinda dragged on and on, but some of the other subplots and ideas (especially about the corporatization of america, and the obligation of citizens to reject a government that no longer represents the interests of the people) were not normal television fodder.. oh, well.
it was a good experience while it lasted..... .
Barbee, executive producer of CBS' canceled post-apocalyptic series Jericho , told SCI FI Wire that talks are ongoing to find the show another home, perhaps on a cable network.
Oh how I wish this would come to fruition. I remember when Arrested Development was going to be cancelled on Fox there was discussion that Showtime or some other network would pick it up. They even joked about it on the 3rd, final season. Never happened. It would be most unfortunate for Jericho to just disappear when so much original programming on SciFi just sucks. Battlestar Galactica is a strong exception in my humble opinion!
